Executive Technologist
Beginning in the mid 1980’s, Steve was an early adopter and leader in designing,
developing and implementing data warehouses using IBM DB2 and IBI Focus. What was
then known as EIS, Executive Information Systems, was in its infancy and a few years
before IBM researchers Barry Devlin and Paul Murphy developed the "business data
warehouse".
In the early 90’s while with a major financial institution, Steve conceived and implemented
the highly innovative data architecture known as the Unified Theory Model (UTM). He was
also the architect and principal designer of a set of object oriented tools to allow rapid
and dynamic instantiation of decision support applications based on the UTM.
At Oracle Corporation where Steve spent 9 years, he was a frequent guest speaker at
industry events and conferences. Through his sales, consulting and thought leadership,
he established a reputation as an expert practitioner and advisor to many Fortune 1000
customers.
Steve has been a featured speaker and instructor at numerous events large and small
throughout the years.
